Cameroon says partnership with Japan pays off
The Japanese international Cooperation Agency, JICA has provided US$42 million for the continuation of construction works on the 67.5 km road connecting Lélé in Cameroon with Mintom in neighboring Congo-Brazzaville.
Public Works officials say the funding is sufficient to ensure Cameroon complete work on the project. The trans African highway is part of the Djoum – Ketta trunk road linking Sangmelima in Cameroon with Ouesso in Congo.
The total cost of the work to upgrade the Cameroon section of the Sangmélima – Ouesso line is around FCFA 119.80 billion. The road measures 651 km long, with 335 km in Congo and 216 km in Cameroon.
