At the opening session of a colloquium organised by the University of Yaounde II in Soa on the “Fundamental Rights and Politics of Solidarity in the Social Actions of the First Lady of Cameroon” on Tuesday , 1, November 2016, the General Coordinator of CERAC, Dr. Linda Yang, called Chantal Biya the "Mother Teresa" of Cameroon.
She was referring to this in terms of the different sectors of intervention of the First Lady notably, health, education, economic empowerment of girls and women and social actions such as assistance to victims of catastrophes such as the Nsam fire disaster amongst others. The association she pointed out, has constructed, renovated and equipped several schools and health centres in all parts of the country.
It should be noted that Mrs. Biya, has not visited the victims of the Eseka train tragedy. Over 65 million CFA was mobilized to organize this conference in a country that lacks roads, hospitals, electricity, and drinking water. Cameroonian "intellectuals" have joined the CPDM governments to examine " social actions "of the wife of the President of the Republic.
