Three people, including a woman and her baby, died on Easter Sunday, shortly after 12 am, in  a traffic accident on the Yaounde-Douala highway. The head on collision was between a Mazda passenger vehicle  and a 70 seater interurban transport bus running which was approaching from the opposite direction.

The accident occurred at a locality called Ebombe, about thirty kilometers from the city of Edéa, a suburb in the Littoral region, which is about an hours drive from Douala.

Three individuals  were reported death on the scene including a woman and her baby. Three others were seriously injured .

The three wounded were evacuated to a hospital in Douala, while the remains of the deceased were kept in a morgue at a local hospital in Edea.

According to initial police reports, the cause of the accident had been attributed to excess speed and reckless overtaking.
