President Biya should order an invasion of Northern Nigeria

The 25th of January 2016 is a day that Cameroon will never forget. Our nation and its people both at home and in the diaspora experienced one of the deadliest attacks in terms of loss of life and injuries. The attacks deep inside the homeland came from the Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram. To be sure, four suicide bombers including young girls, blew themselves up in a market square located in the beautiful town of Bodo in the Far North region.  Agents of the Cameroon Concord Intelligence Unit operating in Maroua, the capital of the Far North region reported that 32 people were killed including the four suicide bombers. Correspondingly, more than sixty innocent Cameroonian citizens were wounded-this is the price we are paying for being neighbors to a country where no leader takes responsibility, no leader ever dare to apologize to us and no leader pays compensation. 

Since January the 2nd 2016, the lifestyle of our people in the Far North and the East regions has been disrupted following the rhythm of incursions by members of Boko Haram and the so called rebels from the Central African Republic. Within the last 26 days, the Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram have conducted 19 attacks in the departments of Logone and Chari, Mayo-Sava and Mayo-Tsanaga in the Far North region of Cameroon without any strong condemnation from the APC led government of Buhari in Nigeria. These vicious and malicious attacks have claimed the lives of 74 Cameroonian citizens. Economically, the material losses are enormous for our people and also for our defense forces. Our chief correspondent in Abuja, Nigeria hinted that it is all business as usual. Retired General Buhari simply does not care about a terrorist group that his quest for power helped in creating in Northern Nigeria. He is everything in today's Nigeria including acting as Head of State and Minister for Petroleum.

The Boko Haram war that began in 2013, has largely been mismanaged by successive Nigerian military officers who go around with loud sounding nothing titles as Brigadier Generals. The loss of life is  getting heavier since the beginning of 2016. We of this publication believe and fervently too that the time has come for our political leadership to consider invading the Northern regions of Nigeria. We have been fed political rhetoric from Abuja that Boko Haram will soon be a thing of the past. However, during this year and January alone, Boko Haram has killed more Cameroonian citizens that cancer, HIV, malaria, Hepatitis B and C combined. Our brothers, sisters and children in the Far North region most affected by these Boko Haram atrocities have lost sleep. A recent explosion at the 1st sector of the Joint Multinational Task Force against Boko Haram headed by an inexperienced Nigerian army general saw our people;women and children escaping towards the mountains. They are aware that we are facing an enemy that does not sleep. We of Cameroon Concord understand that Boko Haram is now a big business in Nigeria and has eventually made many Nigerian citizens billionaires.

In a country where elections are rigged even in Boko Haram held areas, where armed robbery is a daily routine, where human life has no value and where political killings are rampant, the APC/PDP billionaires are helping Boko Haram militants to be smart and to exchange strategies over time. So, recently they concealed explosives in containers transporting fruits. Our men and women in uniform are gradually adapting to the constantly changing tactics of the members of the Boko Haram but for how long?

On January 26, 2016, our Special Forces captured nine Boko Haram terrorists in Achigachia and a Nigerian town of Gakara and killed a dozen others during an operation. They also succeeded in destroying three armored vehicles operated by Boko Haram. The Chadian soldiers have left amid speculation that their coffers are empty and that the French were planning to topple President Idris Deby via his son who is also a general in the army. There exist no proper collaboration with the Joint Multinational Force whose only small stock piles of ammunition have been destroyed by an imaginary fire at Mora. As we write today January 28, 2016, our military informant has announced a new attack in the city of Kerawa precisely in a camp hosting Nigerian refugees. There is talk of an act of terrorism involving suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers. As our intelligence unit prepares to provide you with the balance sheet of this new attack, we are saying that the time is ripe for a complete military action in Northern Nigeria.
