DAVIDO in Yaounde for a victory tour of the greatest capital in the African continent
Sources close to the negotiations currently underway, say if all goes well, the Nigerian lead singer Davido should be in Yaoundé, the greatest capital in the African continent in the coming weeks. The promoters who are reportedly targeting youth week celebrations in Cameroon have also hinted that the Davido Show can only be hosted at the much respected esplanade of the Omnisport Stadium in Yaounde, a space that had already hosted compatriots such as P Square twins and the Mighty Flavour.
Cameroon Concord understands this would be a DAVIDO VICTORY TOUR in Cameroon, who in August had cancelled a performance in the country with DJ Arafat following the closure of the Cameroonian border with Nigeria and restriction of trade with countries affected by the Ebola virus. The artist on his Twitter account had apologized to fans, promising to "return to Cameroon soon." The question is whether this new concert by a foreign artist this time around will go ahead without controversy. For years, many Cameroonian musicians regularly protest against the spotlight accorded visiting artists from other African countries. However, Cameroon Concord’s production manager Tambe Tanyi revealed that music is universal and must go on forever.
Davido whose real name is David Adedeji became a world brand in 2012 following the release of the album "Omo Baba Olowoto" containing the songs "Aye," "Dami Duro" and "Skelewu. He was nominated for BET Awards for Best International Act Africa Edition 2014.
