The comportment of the president of La Republique du Cameroun in recent times has been so fascinating to observe from the onlooker’s position. President Paul Biya has been acting like a cat on hot bricks or better still a mother who returns from a long journey just to find her plates in disarray. But this is not the story of a mother. It is the tale of a president who is almost drowning in the sea of strong pressure coming from just every nook and cranny of his little country.
We may have to walk a little backward in time to observe this waking moment Biya may never forget in his lifetime. All began in 2016, precisely in October, with the Eseka train derailment that left scores of people dead and hundreds more injured.
Our “father” had been enjoying a never-ending holiday in a “celestial hotel” in his Switzerland paradise when the shock hit him right on the nose. After a conference in the US, His Excellency had simply crossed over to Switzerland to have a nice time and breathe “fresh and sweet air” like a child running away from its responsibility of assisting Mama with her chores.
The never-ending holiday had spanned several weeks notwithstanding tough pressure from Cameroonians at home and abroad. But the only thing that could wake Biya from his slumber was the breaking news that might have reached him first through social media that Camrail had buried scores of his people.
Biya ,who could not yet sense real danger, carried on with his slumber thereafter, not knowing that it was just the tip of the iceberg.
Then followed the Anglophone Struggle, which Biya must admit [inwardly] is the most challenging problem he has faced during his “everlasting reign” that has spanned more than three decades already.
Thanks to this unstoppable cry from the people of West Cameroon, the supreme ruler of La Republic has embarked on reforms he never dreamed of, even in his childhood nightmares. He has signed so many decrees that he cannot even ascertain the number, even if he were to do it as part of a contest to select the most intelligent president in the world.
The English language that his regime has always tried to bury in favour of the less powerful French language has received the highest attention in its history in the country. Even so, Biya would never accept defeat or call a spade a spade. That is probably why instead of glorifying English, he hides behind the so-called bilingualism to create a certain National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism; all in a bit to avoid admitting that English is the king of the jungle.
For how long has Cameroon been “bilingual” ? I guess reunification was in 1972. “Father”, you have to fall back into slumber and taste the bitter side of things once more.
Most interestingly, the regime recently claimed the English version of the OHADA text had been in existence for several years now. If that claim was true, then it confirms the deep slumber the regime had been in. That was after irresistible pressure from common law lawyers as part of the cry against the marginalization of West Cameroon by La Republique.
We may not have to cite appointments Biya has been obliged by circumstances beyond his “control” to make. And West Cameroonians have taken central stage in the appointments.
Papa has just created a football academy in his country, which he terms Anafoot. We have also officially put in place a specialized female football league, which Helene Sakwe has been called to lead.
Papa, slumber could be good. Try again.

Tassang Wilfred is the Secretary General of Southern Cameroons Ambazonia Consortium United Front. He also has a religious part as he is a deacon. Tassang, the deacon has outline 4 pieces of evidence why children of God in Southern Cameroons must start rejoicing as 2017 shall be the liberation year for Southern Cameroons. Read on:
2017: The SET YEAR for SOUTHERN CAMEROONS LIBERATION
Consider these Evidence. These are not by Chance. The Good Book says in Ecclesiastes that there is time for everything; a time to be born, a time to die. A time to weep and a time to laugh. A time to be sad and a time to be cheerful.Certainly and as testified by the scriptures, there is a time to be enslaved and a time to be set free.
Since 2013, God has been speaking about His glorious plans to destroy the works of Satan in the Cameroons in 2017. You surely have heard, at least through rumours that God told this or that servant about His plans for Cameroon in 2017. In my owncase, it was not “heard from”. Four different servants of the Lord told me about today since 2014.
EVIDENCE No. 1
To me specifically, the Lord told me in 2013 to sing out His desire for our nation according to the words of 2Chr.7:14, the message of Heal Our Land. That assignment was accomplished in 2014, but we refused to pray.
In October 2014, the servant of the Most High who told me first about 2017, called in October 2016 to indicate that God’s work in Cameroon would start in 2016,not knowing that I was included in that plan to play a role.
EVIDENCE No. 2
2017 and 1961 are the same, date for date, and day for day. For instance, 11 February 1961 and 2017 were both on a Saturday.
EVIDENCE No.3
April 4th 2017 and 1961 fell on the same Tuesday. That day the UN voted to grant us independence.
EVIDENCE No.4
May 20 1972 fell on the same Saturday as May 2017. That’s the year of the OUI and YES referendum that brought about this present enslavement. This Sunday, I fellow shipped at the First Baptist Church, and what is the theme of this church for 2017? ” My Year of Total Deliverance. Now my Pastor and anointed servant of God back home in September 2016, declared 2017 as the year of complete deliverance. Now this is significant.
The Lord has again reminded me of His promise.
Dear God’s children, if what God has promised delays, it won’t be because God is indifferent, it will delay because of our stubbornness. It will because we want to liberate ourselves with our own power. Even after we have seen what the Lord has done, we still want to be seen as the liberators. We shout most loudly so that the world may glorify us for what God has set forth to do.
But the evidence for our liberation this year is compelling. It means only one thing: that this is the year the Lord Himself will correct all the errors of the past.He will correct 1961 in 2017 and He will also correct 1972 in 2017. It also is indicative of the fact that we need to look up to Him only for all that which we need to physically defeat the already defeated enemy.
Praise God and glory to His name.

Over the last days, the Southern Cameroons Internetosphere has been washed with the news that the outlawed Consortium leaders Barrister Balla and Dr. Fontem shall be Released conditionally. Though we have not heard from their lawyers directly, the people of Southern Cameroons based their reactions on Ashu Nyenty's declaration over the state radio CRTV wherein he explained what a Conditional Release will mean for this two leaders. We do not yet know if the lawyers have engaged in any such negotiations or if they are going to accept such conditional bail come 7th June, 2017.
Considering the fact that every Southern Cameroonian is emotionally attached to this struggle, their reactions over such a News is understandable and welcome. We do not expect people to fold their arms and not debate such. Debating is part of the Anglo Saxon culture. However, it should be recalled that there is none who will not want to see our leaders out. Staying in jail is never a good thing. This morning, Mr. Chris Anu of the Cameroon Journal, sent out an editorial why Balla and Fontem must reject any Conditional Release and public opinion agrees that releasing any of them conditionally will be bad not only to themselves but also to those in jail.
It should also be recalled that the ban on the outlawed Consortium has not been reversed. The Cameroun Government as of the 17th January, 2017 considers the Consortium illegal through it ban. Should the Consortium leaders be out Conditionally, they won't be able to assume their role of the consortium. Conditional release will subscribe to judicial supervision which is like a house arrest.
We cannot really start throwing stones on this or on our leaders because the lawyers of our leaders have not spoken and we do not yet know the conditions. Be it as it may, we the people of Southern Cameroons, political figures, international organisations and bodies have all called for the unconditional release of our leaders. This is so because they were and are not criminals. Our leaders must not should La Republique gives such conditions loose the power in them. Whatever conditions accepted must be that which put the people of Southern Cameroons first.
I know it is difficult to accept because these leaders have families and their own self to take care off but he who put his/her hands in the plough must not be ready to look back. Before we engaged in this struggle we knew the repressive nature of the Cameroun regime. The Lawyers and teachers who started this revolution in 2016 knew the type of Government we are dealing with. Before the consortium leaders called for ghost towns, two states federation, boycotts of 11th February and 20th May, they knew the repressive nature of the regime. Before Mancho went out with the coffin, he knew the repressive nature of the regime. Before Ayah was talking and preaching he knew. None of our leaders were taken by surprise. They knew the nature of this regime and I guess it is something they should be prepared because they carry now the weight of former British Southern Cameroons. It was not going to be easy. Yes, they knew what they were getting into.
No one man is more than the aspirations of Southern Cameroons and the people shall not accept any compromise from any leader or leaders who sort to take us back to the collapsed status quo. The Southern Cameroons people shall not also accept the release of few while others remain in jail. This is a song we have been singing for months. The news flying over the internet that few will be bailed out because of a known abode, profession or respected people of the society is aching to the marrow. We are not fools. Before La Republique arrested our people and charged them as terrorists, didn't they know they were and are respected people in the society? Are the "commoners" in jail not known by their abode, professions etc? Therefore, our mantra that all must be released must continue. The release of few and others in jail will solve nothing and no one will hear from those released if they don't speak the language of the people.
This struggle is not a child's play and any leader or front line activists engaging in this must have known that it is not for fun or popularity contest. It is DO or Die something. I, Mark Bareta earlier declared that I have killed all emotional, psychological, spiritual, sexual , financial etc attachments as such I am fully engage into this struggle in such a way that only death will stop me from this struggle. I am aware that I can be killed tomorrow, arrested etc. I know I have sacrificed my going home to the Cameroons until restoration and therefore I have no regrets. Yes, I knew what I was getting into, therefore all front line leaders and activists must understand the danger they are into against an organised criminal state of La Republique. We have collectively lived as prisoners for 56 years under the bondage of La Republique. We must break the chain now.
Therefore, as we push for other issues to take the struggle ahead, our only major concern now is fighting for the unconditional release of all our people in jail and not some conditional release of a selected few. A Conditional Release is worse than prison in itself. It gives more talking points to La Republique and condemns the rest in jail as criminals. The rest who are in there because they listened to the directives of the consortium leaders.
The people of Southern Cameroons are not expecting to receive their leaders who will come out and be mute. We expect our leaders to come out and continue where they stopped. It could be in the form of dialogue, meetings, tours and social media activism that's why they must be released unconditionally. We don't want to see a leader released conditionally and can't even give a press interview. Such a leader does not promote the struggle in anyway. We should have known what took us into this thing and be prepared to take it to the logical end.
Also, the arguments by some that people who are against their conditional release should replace them in jail is so childish and weak minded. Everyone whether home or abroad and even the unborn have a role to play. Distance has never been a barrier. We are separated by rivers and oceans but bonded by a common vision to see a free Southern Cameroons. The strike didn't meet us in Southern Cameroons and we ran abroad. This strike met us at our respective destinations and we embraced it fully. For those who escaped police arrest and went to Nigeria or USA was a tactical move to not have killed the struggle and while out we still see their huge contributions. We are called upon to play our role in the struggle whether home or abroad and we must put the people's interest first.
There is no turning back. No forgiveness for anyone who will compromise this winning struggle.
Freedom Ghost Towns continue Monday 29th, 2017.
This is Mark Bareta, From Bui County and I approve this message.

The Social Democratic Front (SDF) has issued a communiqué signed by the secretary general convening its bigwigs to a special meeting in Bamenda on Saturday 27th May 2017.
The special executive meeting, that features among others mayors and parliamentarians, will be presided over by the national president of the party, John Fru Ndi.
This meeting comes at a time when the atmosphere seems rather unfriendly for the party and the whole political landscape in Cameroon.
SDF, leading opposition party in Cameroon for over two decades now, championed the boycott of National Day celebrations on 20th May.
However, the call has received bitter criticisms from the public, particularly Francophone Cameroonians. They continue to consider the move as being “very unpatriotic”, even if Fru Ndi and his party believe that it is a means of correcting the “current decaying state of our nation.”
And more disturbingly for SDF, two of its mayors defiled the call and acted like Judas Iscariot. Mayors Fideis Balick Awa of the Bamenda II Municipality and Cletus Fongu of the Bamenda III Council were reportedly spotted among other “patriotic” Cameroonians at the National Day feast.
The disturbing attitude of these mayors from SDF followed another troubling move from the vice-president of the Cameroon People’s Party (CPP). The president of CPP, Edith Kah Walla, was reportedly shocked by a media outing by her deputiy, rejecting a previous call for a boycott of the National Day.
The vice-president had issued a communiqué through the state broadcaster CRTV, dismissing the boycott as a “unilateral” decision by the president.
Even so, Kah Walla stood her ground and the boycott was steered towards her own desired direction.
This uneasiness on the political scene is coming up just a few months to the election season in Cameroon, precisely 2018.

As Cameroon's front-line opposition party the SDF observes its 27th anniversary May 26, the ruling party in the country, the CPDM controversially organized a National workshop to imbibe party values to its militants.
Critics have been quick to assume that the timing of the Training workshop is a deliberate act to spoil the already solemn atmosphere surrounding the SDF and her anniversary. Organizing an event on a day its main rival is marking 27 years has been seen as a subtle dig at the SDF for its stance on recent political happenings, considering that the SDF has never held any event on March 24 the day of the CPDM anniversary.
A central Committee member of the CPDM based in Douala who opted for anonymity however refutes the claims , reiterating that the CPDM as a party is not obstructed by any law not to carry out its activities on the birthday of its main rival. With elections around the corner, the diehard militant explains it was important for their party to start inculcating party values so as to, awaken sleeping minds within the fold.
Despite what some SDF militants in Douala call an unpleasant coincidence, reports from some key SDF chiefs indicate a solemn birthday in line with directives from party hierarchy. Militants are using the day to pray for those who have been "unjustly" imprisoned and commune with families who have lost their loved ones to trigger happy security officers.
As the National Vice Chairman, Joshua Osih says, the low key birthday is a pointer to government to begin considering concrete solutions to the plight of Anglophones which till now the party believes has been timid.

Barrister Agbor Balla last Wednesday 24th May, just before the fifth hearing, was spotted talking to his comrades of the law field about the importance of networking. Instead of being worried on how to get out of detention, the law giant and man of the people seemed to be very relaxed and even more energized. The 4 walls of the prison do not seem to not to perturb his zeal of impacting other comrades on the importance of networking in today’s world.
In the video that went viral on the social media, the leader emphasized that other comrades who are not directly involved with the defense team should exchange contacts with the defense attorneys. He encouraged the defense attorneys and other senior lawyers to contribute to the careers of their younger comrades by ways of references. According to Barrister Agbor Balla, a good reference will only come about as a result of output and networking amongst professionals.
Many Cameroonians have been touched by his positive attitude towards the struggle and applauded the Law Guru on his continuous and never ending concern for the career development of his other comrades.
