Kah Walla advocates for Southern Cameroonians in letter to Paul Biya

The National President of the Cameroon People's Party (CPP), Edith Kahbang Walla, wrote a letter to the President of La Republique, enumerating a number of issues she thinks Biya needs to look into and fix within the shortest space of time. In this Letter she called on Paul Biya to give Southern Cameroonians what they want.

Kah Walla laid much emphasis on the right of our children to education, which the regime in power is doing nothing to guarantee.

"According to estimations, over 3 million children did not go to school during the 2016-2017 academic year in the North West and South West Regions, despite threats and use of force by your soldiers to make them go to school.

"Your government is calling on school resumption in a month's time... In what class will the children be, will they repeat or move to the next class? What measures have been taken to ensure smooth studies?

"It is clear that parents do not want to send their kids to school due to insecurity and arbitrary arrests that characterize the two English speaking Regions" the CPP President outlined.

She went further to say that, before schools even resume all the illegally detained Southern Cameroonians must be released.

Other key issues were mentioned in the letter like the Boko Haram insurgency in the Northern part of Cameroon and financial crisis that are plaguing the Country, which Biya was asked to give an account for.
