Breaking

Denis Njang , the National Organisng Secretary of the People Action Party has finally been released. He was arrested Saturday June 17 in government's effort to foil a planned campaign by the PAP to woo 11 million voters before 2018. The rally was eventually banned by Yaounde authorities.

Speaking to the press after his release, Denis Njang said he was picked up by elements of the 18th Police district in Yaounde after he made a declaration to hold a rally. The officers on their part dismiissed his story insisting on an authorisation. He reveals that his arrest is related to the detention of Ayah Paul , President of the party who is being held since January.

The PAP official has made it clear that the party is different from Ayah Paul, so authorities should not infringe on civil liberties and freedom of association. He wonders why the rally was sqwashed when the party has on previous occasions held meetings with a declaration to the D.O.

Readers of the situiation believe that the government is determined to do everything to neutralise any activity or people related to the retired Justice Ayah Paul. Recently mr Ayah's son, Ayah Ayah was also arrested detained and released 24 hours later.  Retired chief justice Ayah Paul has been incarcerated at the Gendarmerie headquarters Yaoundé for months now without any charges levied against him.
