A female student on her way back home after studies last night was robbed of her belongings at the Ndokoti neighborhood in Douala. Unfortunately for the robber, it was not a good moment to strike as some bike riders were passing by and the girl raised an alarm.
About ten riders took off behind the robber and he took refuge at the Ndokoti cemetery but the riders were determined to settle scores with him. More riders flooded the scene and whole graveyard was soon lite by their head lights and behold their target was hiding under a collapsed tomb.
The girl’s belongings were handed over to her but the riders had not settled matters with him. The timely intervention of the police on the scene guaranteed the survival of the robber in question for they seized him from the cold hands of death and gave him another chance to see another day again.
One of the riders whose name we got as Fabrice says “enough is enough with these petty robbers who do away with peoples belongings around here, we wanted to set an example on this guy so that his friends should withdraw from this area but luckily the police rescued him.”
Ndokoti has been marked with rampant incidents of pick pocketing and petty robbery because of its strategic location and this has thus called for an installation of a police post there.

The Regional Manager for Societe Cooperative d'Epargne et du Developpement des Camerounais for Limbe was yesterday the 29th June kept under house arrest by the customers of the said institution.
Mr Agbor Phillip had passed an order to the Limbe Branch Manager to empty the coffers of the said institution but the manager did not waste any time to inform the banks account holders who stormed the office of the Regional Manager Mr. Agbor and held him hostage.
They were demanding the management to enable them withdraw their money from the coffers and had no intention to release the Manager until their demands were met but the timely intervention of the security forces jeopardized their plans and ferried Mr Agbor to the Limbe Police Station.
He has not reacted to these allegations yet and the atmosphere is still tensed for the customers are agitated and worried about their state of money under its keeping. This is not strange in Cameroon for most financial institutions are going bankrupt and folding up with customers’ money like the case with FIFA.

The premises of the National printing house (Imprimerie Nationale) were filled with enraged workers yesterday 28 June 2017, who said they had had enough of discomfort at their job site.
They were demanding unpaid salaries and improvement in their working conditions. In lamentation, the protesters said their working conditions are deplorable beyond imagination; ceilings are rotten, seats are tattered and even the road leading to the place is unkempt.
This is the same thing that happened in 2015. Workers were requesting payment of their salaries which had been held for years for no good reason. It’s not as if it is a private enterprise, as a matter of fact, it is one of the top public organs of the country. All administrative documents are printed there such as, birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage certificates.
All of these irregularities are happening under the reign of Nkomo Walter Paul who was appointed by a presidential decree, on the 25 of May 2017. He is an ex-Mathematic pedagogic inspector at the Ministry of Secondary Education. He replaced his predecessor Gabriel Nna Abessolo who died in November 2014 in Yaounde following an illness.
He has before him, the task of convincing the bitter employees to resume work, because everything was brought to a standstill yesterday. No sounds of Machines were heard, only the angry voices of the workers could be heard.

The neighborhood of Mimboman in Yaounde is once again witnessing a disturbing level of insecurity. Bike riders want quick money and have resorted to banditry, robbing their clients of their valuables and cash.
The famous Abong Baba Bridge in this neighborhood is a perfect spot for this activity for it is poorly lite and further away from residence. A resident whose name we got as Herve said “the situation is quick scary for almost everybody who comes into the neighborhood is robbed. The perpetrators are either the bike riders or his collaborators who wait patiently for their colleague to bring them a client, my daughter is also a victim and it is funny she was robbed just at 7pm four days ago. This is reoccurring again but the first instance was raping and killing young girls”.
With this alarming activity, the police is putting in place measures to get the perpetrators of such acts to justice.

Fabian Fomuki, a Cameroonian born US Based citizen resident in Boston, Massachusetts is reportedly missing since last Tuesday June 20 in Douala. Information reaching us indicates that Fabian who was on a business adventure in Cameroon was last seen when a taxi dropped him off at the entrance of his hotel that fateful day. Since then no news over is whereabouts has surfaced leaving family members and friends increasing disturbed as to his mysterious disappearance.
Police and other security imperatives say they don’t have an idea neither are they keeping him. But family members revealed to us that, his phone was still ringing 48 hours after he went out of sight. Leaving a suspicious feeling that, he might have been abducted and his phone tapped. The possibility of him being taken to the Kondengui detention complex in Yaounde has not been ruled out as well.
Fabian has been a critic of the brutal suppression of civil liberties in the Anglophone regions by the Biya regime. And it is also suspected that his stance might have provoked his disappearance. It is strongly believed he might have been framed for arrest by a close companion acting like a spy. Accusing fingers are pointing at one Tita Tabe a clansman of the missing Fabian who all hail from Guneku in the North West region. Tita, who allegedly works with the regime as an informant to have been behind the arrest of four diasporans including one Kenneth Anya who reportedly escaped. While we cannot independently verify these claims, it is a fact that most of the arrests going on in the North West and South West regions have been facilitated by spies living among the population.
The US Embassy has also been informed and is closely following the matter, as pressure mounts on Yaounde to establish the truth behind his disappearance.
