The governments of Cameroon and the Republic of Italy have signed a convention estimated at FCFA 359 billion for 1000 low cost houses to be constructed in Yaoundé, the nation's capital. The convention was signed on Thursday the 17th of March 2016 at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel during a Cameroon-Italy Business Forum that took place on the sidelines of the four-day working visit of the Italian Head of State to Cameroon.

The Minister of State of Property, Surveys and Land Tenure, Jacqueline Koung a Basike and that of Housing and Urban Development, Jean Claude Mbwentchou signed for the government of Cameroon while Michel Pizzarotti who conducted the Italian delegation signed for Italy. The convention is one of the first to be signed following with the visit of President Sergio.

Cameroon Concord understands many more agreements are expected when the Italian business delegation accompanying President Sergio Mattarella will meet with Cameroonian business community.
