“He’s apparently OK. That’s the main thing,” Bakare said, adding that the authorities appeared to be preparing for a legal hearing.
His lawyer Emmanuel Simh said: “He is accused of insulting the president of the republic, and after the hearings we will be able to give further information.”

The CEO of the media corporation Emmanuel Chatue was instructed by the powers that be to censure both programmes because some participants had criticized the Biya government.

After the "War Council" meeting last Friday, Biya appointed Gen Daniel Elokobi, a son of the soil from Manyu, to lead his anti-Anglophone jihad. Gen Elokobi is expected to restore peace in his troubled Manyu Division where six soldiers were killed amid the escalating Anglophone crisis. It is worth noting that when the security situation in Southern Sudan degenerated, the Khartoum gov't despatched Gen John Garang, who hailed from Southern Sudan to go and quell the rebellion. Khartoum later learnt to its own chagrin that John Garang had become the leader of the Sudan's Peoples Liberation Army. Are there any parallels here? Click the link below to listen to Gen Elokobi speak at the IV Moscow Conference on International Security and you might get a glimpse of his soul.
