Southern Cameroons Ambazonia Consortium United Front (SCACUF) has retained a US law firm, Foley Hoag LLPP, to sue La Républiuque for the illegal occupation of Southern Cameroons territory.
The historic signing done in Boston recently was championed by Southern Cameroonians in the USA and the rest of the diaspora who are concerned with the future of the restoration of their statehood and complete independence from the shackles of the Francophone-led regime in Cameroon.
SCACUF aims to rally all Southern Cameroonians to fight and secure a free and more democratic state of Southern Cameroons (Ambazonia) than the present dog-eat-dog arrangement headed by President Paul Biya.
“Therefore, SCACUF calls on all Southern Cameroonians (Ambazonians) to join ranks so we can, together, begin establishing the foundations for a new beginning in a self-governing homeland with institutions grounded in the enduring principles of accountability, transparency, equality, and in the values of social justice and economic freedom,” states a statement released soon after the Boston signing.
SCACUF, also referred to as the UNITED FRONT, wishes to lead all Southern Cameroonians to an independent, sovereign state called Ambazonia with its own government, constitution, defence forces, economy and culture.

The government of Cameroon has arrested cable network distributors in the North West Region. The men were arrested in Ndop, Ngoketunjia Division, for making SCBC Channel available for people to watch.
Monday’s action is a one in a line of crackdown measures by the government in Yaounde to silence the people of Southern Cameroon.
Previously, the people of West Cameroon suffered an internet blackout which spanned more than ninety days. Much pressure came to bear and Yaounde loosened its grip on the internet on the eve of the start of All University Games in Bamenda.
Recently the National Communication Council came out to teach media persons about what to report in the light of the unrest in Southern Cameroons. The media was warned against talking about federalism or secession, which are among the demands tabled by some of the people on strike.
Some newspapers, especially Anglophone papers, have been threatened with pending sanctions by the same council for treating the Anglophone Problem in different manner, other than what the central government expects.
A couple of Southern Cameroonian journalists are detained in Yaoundé, particularly in connection with the unrest. They include Amos Fofung, Thomas Awah Junior, Mfor Ndong, Hans Achumba, Tim Finnan,Medjo Lewis and Jean Claude Agbortem.

Cote d’Ivoire’s Minister of State in charge of Political Dialogue and Relations with Institutions is in Cameroon to tap from the experience of the Senate in Cameroon.
Mr Jeannot Ahoussou Kouadio was received in audience on Monday by the president of Cameroon’s upper house of parliament, the Senate.
The special envoy from the president of Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara, is in Cameroon to copy the experience of the four-year-old Cameroon’s Senate in order to help build Ivory Coast’s baby senate.
Mr Kouadio’s stay in Cameroon ends on Wednesday.
Speaking after the audience with Marcel Niat, Mr Kouadia said the information gathered would help his country’s new chamber of parliament enormously.
“We are going to work, deeply work. We are very delighted to be in Cameroon,” Mr Kouadio disclosed his commitment to work with Cameroon.
Ivory Coast voted in a referendum last year to create an upper chamber of parliament alongside the post of vice-president.
The Senate went operational in Cameroon in 2013.

Nude photos of Diane Shima Rwigara, could be breaking the internet, but possibly, not her spirit.
The Rwandan presidential candidate on Friday morning was shocked to learn about her private naked photographs were making rounds around the world.
The move to humiliate the woman, who has recently boldly come out to attack President Paul Kagame’s bad governance, is likely to attract criticism from women rights activists.
The 35-year-old tough talking woman is a daughter of the late Assinapol Rwigara. He died in a motor accident in 2015
It is hardly a week since she announced her presidential ambitions and a photo bomb has fallen on her.
In the conservative Rwandan society, Ms Rwigara is likely to get shunned by moralists, while the youth might warm up to her candidature but for only excitement.
However, analysts ask, “who will take seriously a woman who finds idle time to take nude photos?” Nudes are not new in Rwanda, but no high profile woman has been rudely exposed to this extent. This has been a territory for musicians, socialites and corporate prostitutes.
How Rwigara will respond to this photo bomb will tell a lot about the substance she is made of. For now, an innocent act such as this is a little set back to the fire she had infused into her campaign

The Director of cabinet at the Prime Ministry has warned that there is no compromise for schools in the Anglophone regions which do not comply with 2017 schedule for official exams. Prof Paul Ghogomu Mingo who was addressing the Executive Members of the North West Fons Union vowed that not even repeated ghost towns will stop the exams .
Ghogomu believes that those blocking school resumption in these regions are individuals who are bent on causing disorder. He told the traditional rulers that Government is bent on ensuring a hitch free conduct of the exams and security imperatives will be put in place to that end He encouraged the Fons to talk to their subjects and make them see the need of sending their children to school, reiterating Government's good will to solve the grievances raised by Anglophone lawyers and teachers.
The Fons in two motions of support said they were behind President Paul Biya's bid for a new mandate and also welcomed the creation of the Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism.
They expressed their desire for constructive dialogue to end the growing imp-ass.

Of late the government of Cameroon has been held by the scrotum by Anglophone protesters to demonstrate bilingualism in all its facets. The ageing government in its desperation seems to be getting in more trouble to proof to the Cameroonians that it is truly bilingual. Some have described the “Get Bilingual Quick” schemes employed by the government as a big joke; they say the government is simply crucifying the queen’s language.
Many individuals have confirmed that translations made on signposts and texts contain many mistakes and it is more trouble for country especially now that the government is taking steps to boost its tourism sector.
“The government needs to accept that French was almost the lone language used in Cameroon. They should not hastily go and add wrong English phrases on old sign posts as though they existed long time ago. They should take time and employ a competent body to systematically change the signposts. Now when tourists will visit Cameroon and pass across such sign posts, it will be more disgraceful for the whole country” says an onlooker.
