Cameroon Anglophone Consortium leaders report that the Ghost town action of today, Tuesday, 31 January is moving smoothly as planned all over West Cameroon.They had been reports of some clashes last night in mile 17 Buea whereby angry youths burnt down ssome shops that had defied the Ghost Town action and opened their doors.The shop owners on the other hand claimed they had been forced by the Mayor of that city-Buea to open.
Below is an official statement posted by the Consortium leader, Mark Bareta earlier Tuesday on his Facebook wall;
Today's Situational Report
Ghost Town is in full force across all cities, villages, and communities in West Cameroon. However, we have disturbing reports that some shops in Mile 17 that colonial mayor Ekema forced open yesterday were burnt down as we get up this morning.
The consortium continues to denounce any acts of violence. We denounce it in the possible strongest terms but we must not lose sights that our people are very angry and some of them may act individually to throw such anger when a situation comes up. It is fair to say that Mr. Ekema pushed whosoever carried these acts and the Mayor must bear the consequences for forcing shops to open and causing those who acted to act. Mr. Mayor should be held responsible. In fact, all those whose stores were sealed by the Mayor have as right to sue him.
We seize this opportunity again to plead with our people to continually being non-violent no matter how provoked you become. Hold your anger and stay home and do not engage in any acts of violence that will jeopardize our winning struggle. We also request our people to continue being resistant in the struggle by following all directives as we collectively decide no matter the threats.
We call for the unconditional release of all Southern Cameroonians arrested to pave the way for meaningful dialogue.

A man was killed on Monday morning in Cameroon and several others injured following an attack by Boko Haram, a newspaper has reported.
L’Oeil du Sahel newspaper said three persons were injured when Boko Haram terrorists attacked the locality of Ouro-Moussa Kambo in the district of Fotokol in the country’s far north. Fokotol is located not far from the border with Nigeria.
The attack took place at 3 o’clock in the morning, the newspaper added.
Boko Haram has killed many people in recent weeks in Cameroon and Nigeria as it tries to regain lost territories. Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari declared last December after the sect’s headquarters in the Sambisa forest fell, that Boko Haram had been defeated.
But the threats remain and many people are being killed via suicide and gun attacks. Last week, a Cameroonian army General, a Colonel and two others died in a helicopter crash in the war zone.
The government said it was an accident but an investigation has been opened.

Anglophone Consortium leader Mark Bareta writes that today's Ghost town action is fully effective in anglophone regions of Cameroon.Below is a press statement he relased on his Facebook wall;
The Consortium can now confirm that Ghost Town is fully in force. From Buea, Bamenda, Kumba, Tiko, Mamfe etc. Our people are being resolute. NO SCHOOL RESUMPTION. The unity is stronger than before. We continue to call for the unconditional release of our leaders and all persons arrested. Please, stay tuned for updates.
We have succeeded in capturing up to the innermost villages in our land. Ghost town is BAE From Indenau to Ngie, Aghek, Mator etc. Our people are resolute. The information from our land is that people have already forgotten about schools after all certificates this 2016/2017 year are not recognized by UNESCO. Our efforts are now focused on our statehood restoration and that will begin by destroying the 11th February annexation link. 11th February would be the BIGGEST GHOST TOWN DAY. On this day the fake bond will be sent to the abyss and we shall begin in good faith restructuring the West Cameroon State as it then was.
Meanwhile the government is seriously cracking down on media outlets reporting about the current crisis, due to the internet blackout and fear and intimidation from Cameroon's regime, Cameroon concord has been out of touch with its reporters based in the anglophone regions of Cameroon.
A Facebook user currently in Bamenda described the situation for reporters as this;
Consortium leader Tapang Ivo went ahead to caution the general public to keep an eye on several news outlets who either give wrong information or have been intimidated by the regime to bradcast news in a way to suit the authorities.Amongst those blacklisted are;
1. Crooked CRTV.
2. Cameroon Tribune.
3. Guardian Post Newspaper (it has recently changed its stance).
Stay glued and keep an eye for backsliders. Do NOT believe the aforementioned organs.

*THE DIGNIFIED PEOPLE OF WEST CAMEROON ARE WINNERS FOR ALL TIMES*.
Our people have proven to the colonial masters that our iron will is tougher than all their guns. The week by week shut down of West Cameroon is sure proof. We will keep our children home and shut down everything till we build a better future for those children. We will do it for as long as it takes. This is the best option for us for we are a peaceful people and we will win by all peaceful means.
The reason our courageous leaders are in jail and others are being hunted down like animals is because this government believes that it has a colony in West Cameroon! In colonial policy, the master never sits to debate anything with the natives who own the land. The colonial rules are simple, beat them, maim them, jail them, shoot them and kill them heady native, who challenge your injustices, until the rest submit to your colonial will! After 55 years, our people have simply outgrown fear and submission. They are now holding their heads higher and higher and simply saying *“Since you have more value for our land than for our people, kill us all before you take the land.”* This is our peaceful resistance “War” cry.
We must now let the world know that we will resist them to the last man, woman and child. It is the cheapest “war” against our oppressors. With our bare hands and our hearts full of determination to live in dignity in our own country, we must collectively stand up and face our oppressors until we win! Even if our children stay home for two years, it will be better for us and those children because we will use this peaceful means to build a better and a free Cameroon for them. Peaceful resistance and civil disobedience are very legitimate ways of fighting oppression!
*My people, by shutting down the internet all over West Cameroon, this government has proven that if it had its means, it could shut off even the air we breathe, so that we, the people of West Cameroon, could collectively chock to death! If they could, they could, they will shut down both sun and rain so we could all starve to death. This government is a grave source of danger to us as a people!*
Unfortunately for them, God has a different plan for his people of West Cameroon! A plan of complete victory of good over evil! Actions speak louder than words! Their actions have shown the whole world how much they despise us! We can now see them for who they really are: *a heartless government that treats us as subhuman!* Were it not, how can a government treat our people with such gross disrespect, spite and arrogance? When a government lacks respect for its people, that government has no place in the people’s life. Let us all stand up in West Cameroon and prove to them that they have no place in our lives!
THE STUGGLE CONTINUES.
Your humble servant,
Hon Wirba.

Witnessing massive success in the Ghost Town operations that has pushed the government of Cameroon into a desperate situation, the Anglophone consortium , has renewed calls for all citizens of Southern Cameroons to respect the Ghost Town operations this coming week.
One of the leaders of the Consortium, Mark Bareta, wrote on his Facebook wall the follwing;
This Monday and Tuesday is our greatest test. We rely on you in the Diaspora and La Republique. This should be the calling and texting weekend. Please call or text atleast 10 persons back home and ask that person to relay the information to others also. Our message is simple. " Ghost town on Monday and Tuesday. All stay home. No School Resumption. Victory is close. Please do not bow to threats. People of Buea and Limbe should stand up and defend themselves by making Ghost towns ghostly - fear not Ekema. The school year is already blank"
While sending, you could modify and add certain lines. The most important thing is that the central message of Ghost towns and no school remains.
Thank you
Mark Bareta and Tapang Ivo

The NW/SW regions of Cameroon are now entering their tenth day without internet access due to Biya's-ordered blackout that began the night of January 17-18, impacting the day to day activities of over 5 million people living in these areas.
34-year-old Ngoran Ephraim says he and his staff of seven are now out of work. They used to run an internet shop that provides online services to students and researchers on Commercial Avenue in Bamenda, the capital of Cameroon's North West region. But on January 18, internet providers halted their services. Banks and financial institutions engaged in money transactions have not been able function.
The continued calls for the Ghost towns in Southern Cameroons is seen as a way to tell the world the plight and suffering of Southern Cameroons under the regime of President Paul Biya.Cameroon’s current difficulties stem back to its pre-independence history when it was formed from a region that was colonized by the British with the region run by the French. Its government, education, and legal systems are dominated by the larger French-speaking region. In recent years tensions have mounted as people from the Anglophone regions have have been marginalized by the Francophone-led establishment.
