The National President of the Cameroon People's Party (CPP), Edith Kahbang Walla, wrote a letter to the President of La Republique, enumerating a number of issues she thinks Biya needs to look into and fix within the shortest space of time. In this Letter she called on Paul Biya to give Southern Cameroonians what they want.
Kah Walla laid much emphasis on the right of our children to education, which the regime in power is doing nothing to guarantee.
"According to estimations, over 3 million children did not go to school during the 2016-2017 academic year in the North West and South West Regions, despite threats and use of force by your soldiers to make them go to school.
"Your government is calling on school resumption in a month's time... In what class will the children be, will they repeat or move to the next class? What measures have been taken to ensure smooth studies?
"It is clear that parents do not want to send their kids to school due to insecurity and arbitrary arrests that characterize the two English speaking Regions" the CPP President outlined.
She went further to say that, before schools even resume all the illegally detained Southern Cameroonians must be released.
Other key issues were mentioned in the letter like the Boko Haram insurgency in the Northern part of Cameroon and financial crisis that are plaguing the Country, which Biya was asked to give an account for.

"World financial institutions have so far been according us much confidence which is gradually helping us to attain our plan in terms of growth.
It is no doubt that we are facing falling prices of basic commodities of which fuel is not an exception, especially in the world market.
The sum of 667 million dollars, has been loaned to us by The International Monetary Fund. This collaboration is aimed at stabilising our economy and increasing job opportunities" the president explained.
According to him, much progress is being witnessed in Cameroon. He keeps on borrowing but we don't see what is being done with the money. It remains a wonder how it will be reimbursed to the lenders.

One of the dirtiest wounds Cameroon can't hide any longer is the dishonesty of its election management body, Elecam.
Elections Cameroon is supposed to ensure fair and free elections in Cameroon.
Of course that's true, depending on where you stand.
One issue about Elecam caught my attention on Wednesday when some newly appointed members of the corrupt body were taking oath of office.
They were warned that they would be judged negatively or positively based on how they did their job.
What they meant by negative and positive judgment is what I don't seem to understand.
In normal circumstances, these guys ought to organize free and fair elections indeed.
But unfortunately, they have to dance to the rhythm of Biya's dictatorship.
Elecam is managed and run by Paul Biya.
I wonder how these guys would not favour Biya in every election, given that he who pays the piper calls the tune.
Paul Biya has been in power for over three decades and is certainly set to seek reelection in next year's presidential election.

Officials of Bello Bouba Maigari’s National Alliance for Democracy and Progress (NUDP) recently doled out colossal sums of money to woo the population of Kumba to buy the party’s cards and vie for positions in the basic organs of the party ahead of the 2018 polls.
The sums of money that was given out ranged from FCFA 50,000 and above for those who wanted to respectively vie for executive positions in the Main, Women and Youth wings of the party.
Speaking at the occasion, the leader of the reorganisation exercise, Ndasi Elvis Noukam, said the decision to give out money to the militants was taken by the party hierarchy.
“It is an internal understanding which is based on the trust and quality of the people we are dealing with and I think that can be handled in our internal caucus," Noukam stated.
He had told his militants that they are still expected to pay back the FCFA 50,000 caution fee, which the party institutes for every lists tabled for elections.
He reminded his party comrades at the election and installation ceremony that other political parties in Cameroon equally institute caution fee for certain posts of responsibility.
Noukam said that his party believes in the politics of a few quality persons, who can be used to change the dynamics of the masses at the grass root rather than a crowd of uncommitted militants, who only chased food and drinks.
He challenged the new leaders of the party in Kumba to pull a stun in the forthcoming polls.
“My dream is for the NUDP to take over and win with absolute majority. With the quality of persons voted into office today, there is no doubt that the future is bright for the party in Meme,” Noukam asserted.

The erstwhile Advocate General of the Supreme Court, Justice Ayah Paul Abine, has now turned to the United Nations (UN) to rescue him from Biya’s henchmen, who have been holding him in detention.
Ayah’s plights are contained in curtly worded letter to the UN.
In the epistolary to the UN, the ex-Advocate General asserted that he was virtually abducted from his house on January 21 and caged without any charges.
“Given my very poor health, I am humbly inviting the UN Working Group to take urgent action about my case following my arbitrary arrest and detention,” the letter reads in parts.
The letter which is written on behalf of the victim by his son, Ayah Ayah Abine, says that his father does not have any secured postal address and prefers to be contacted by telephone or mail or DHL.
Justice Ayah was arrested at his Tam-Tam Weekend family home in Yaounde on January 21, by armed security officers and whisked off to detention.
Since then, the former MP of Akwaya Constituency has been detained at the Gendarmerie Headquarters popularly known by its French acronym as SED.
Following his arrest, the 67-year-old is said to be suffering from many diseases. Many hope that the UN will intervene and liberate the National President of PAP from the fangs of the Biya regime.
