L'oeil du Sahel, a newspaper with focus on the northern part of Cameroon, has accused Prime Minister Philemon Yang of marginalizing the people of that part of the nation.
The Great North comprises three regions-North, Far North and Adamawa.
The paper claims that people from these three regions are not well represented in the Prime Minister's Office.
Out of 11 main technical advisers in the PM's Office, none is from those three regions, the paper says, as related by Cameroon -Info.Net.
Of the three special advisers in the Star Building, none is from the Great North.
Only one of the seven directors in the office is from that region of the nation.
The same paper also accused the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization of failing to suggest enough names from the Great North to Paul Biya for the appointment of divisional officers.
Of the 58 SDOs appointed recently, only eight are from the supposedly 'oppressed' part of Cameroon.
How tangible are these accusations?
What this paper doesn't seem to understand is that the Great North has a large population in the military which is equal to barely no other part of the nation.
The Great North equally has more straight ministers in government than the English-speaking regions of the nation.
The vice-prime minister is from the Great North. And most importantly, this vice-prime minister is more powerful than the prime minister himself. He doubles as vice-prime minister and minister delegate at the presidency in charge of relations with Parliament.
By the way, is Philemon Yang not just a figurehead ?
Why have they left the cause to attack the effect?
Have our brothers forgotten that Paul Biya is the president, head of state, head of the armed forces, and head of government?
Or is it just an attempt to divert attention from the Anglophone Struggle?
English-speaking Cameroonians are fighting desperately against their marginalization by the eight french-speaking regions of the country.

Following the perpetual killings and detention of anglophones, violence, ghost towns which have led to economic stagnation, grounding of schools and courts in the north west and south west regions of Cameroon stemming from the ongoing anglophone crisis , civil society organizations, parents, religious bodies and school proprietors have not stopped mounting pressure on SDF members of Parliament to engage any action that can end the ongoing stalemate in the north west and south west regions of Cameroon before schools resume in September for the 2017/2018 academic year.
It is for this reason that the SDF parliamentary group at the National Assembly organised a press Conference, Friday June 7 2017 to announce the holding of an All Anglophone Conference 3 (AAC 3) in Buea, the capital city of the south west region of Cameroon, from the 18 to 19 of August 2017. The meeting as emphasized by the SDF parliamentary group leader, Hon. Joseph Mbanazem, shall be attended by Chiefs, Fons, MPs, elites, religious leaders, amongst others all from the two English speaking regions and should be bonafide Anglophones by origin. The MPs said their recess period is to lay the ground work ahead of the AAC3.They are also expected to draft a document which will be forwarded to president Biya, for him to okay the holding of the conference.
The representatives of the people reiterated the AAC3 will be a golden opportunity for all anglophones to package their worries in a single bag and forward it to mr Biya.More to that, the present divisions and factions that exist amongst anglophone elites will be highlighted. The only obstacle to this giant initiative can be mr Paul Biya's refusal to authorise its holding according to some protagonists.
Many observers have said it is the non respect and implementation of the resolutions of AAC1 and AAC2 in Buea and Bamenda in 1993 and 1994 respectively that has plunged Cameroon into the current socio-economic and political instability which has ruined the two English speaking regions of the country.
However, it is so unfortunate that this initiative is coming at a time when most anglophones have moved from federalists to secessionists meanwhile the convenor of the meeting, the SDF stands for federation.

Retired Justice Ayah Paul has disclosed the list of some of the people who are 'behind his detention.'
In an open letter in Le Messager, Ayah Paul believes that the current parliamentarian for Akwaya, Igelle Elias, is one of the conspirators.
Some members of government including justice minister, Laurent Esso, are part of the plot, he says.
Ayah Paul has been in detention in Yaoundé for several months, with the reason yet to be disclosed to him.
He was arrested in the wake of the unrest in West Cameroon. Anglophones decry their marginalization by the populous eight French-speaking regions of the nation.
Ayah Paul claims that Honorable Elias has never contacted him or any of his family members, not even on phone, according to Cameroon-Info.Net.
But shockingly, he observed, Mr Elias phoned his wife on 19 January 2017. Ayah says Elias had asked his wife to inform him if he [Ayah] escaped from captivity or if he was released, the same news site reports, quoting Le Messager.
Honorable Elias reportedly replaced Ayah Paul at the National Assembly.
The former judge who was retired recently by Paul Biya also deplored the condition of his detention.
He pointed out that he has been denied access to the phone as cautioned by his doctor due to his poor health.
Access to the toilet is also preoccupying to Ayah Paul.
The full list of the conspirators and their respective roles has been kept jealously by the former judge, he says.

The Government has ordered the Cameroon Airline Corporation (Camair-Co), to re-establish domestic flights to West Cameroon in bid to douse the flaring tempers of the Anglophones.
Camair-Co completed its first technical test flight to the North West Region on Tuesday, July 4.
The Chinese MA60 Mantung, which was given to Cameroon’s military by the Chinese Government and was later added to the Camir-Co fleet by the Government due to inadequate planes, successfully landed at the Bafut Airport.
The Tuesday flight came after several years of neglects of Airports in Southern Cameroons.
The Bamenda Airport just like the Mamfe and Tiko Airports were gradually transformed into plantations and breeding grounds for rodents
Following the successful test flight, Camair-Co will from July 20, begin weekly domestic flights to the Northwest Region from Yaounde and Douala.
But the flight cost still remains a headache. However, sources at Camair-Co have estimated the flight cost at FCFA 32,000.
Meanwhile, officials of the Cameroon Airline Corporation have assured clients that flight tickets will relatively be cheaper.
According to the General Manager of Camair-Co, Ernest Ndikoum, people who book for hotel and airfare together will spend less.
He also revealed that the Bamenda destination is part of the company’s restructuring programme aimed at giving more value to domestic flights, at cheaper rates.
The Camair-Co Bamenda flight, which is due to officially begin on July 20, is set to make use of its three domestic flights.
Meantime, the Bamenda Airport, which was neglected and surreptitiously transformed into a military camp for the Rapid Intervention Battalion(BIR) has now been given a new facelift following the launch of th Camair-Co domestic flight operations.

The Cameroonian Senate on the 3rd of June 2017, adopted a new law, which will permit members of government to assume the post of President of Administrative Council (PCA), while functioning as members of government.
Investir au Cameroun, an Economic Magazine revealed this information in chapter 3 of their recent publication, Wednesday 5 June. This therefore means that, ministers and other members of government are no longer restricted from exercising their greed as that is what had been obtaining in Cameroon even before the implementation of this law.
Before now, article 21 of the 1999 law of December 22, stated clearly that “the post of president of Administrative council is incompatible with that of the members of government”.
This change comes at a time when Senator Peter Mafany has dropped his resignation letter which will have him stripped of his functions as a senator. He is reported to have done this in order to focus on the Commission for Bilingualism and Multiculturalism where he is president.

Parents in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon send your kids to practical schools like garages, woodwork and Joinery,Electrical and industrial wiring, floor and wall tailing, bread and cake decorations, shoe making and cobbling, soap production, decoration and modelling, speech writing ,poetry writing. Script writing etc.
The sum total of education is wealth creation and putting food on the table as well as living a hazard free life. If one can speak the English language like Queen Elizabeth of England and possess degrees like the most capped academician but can't feed himself, then the purpose of education is futility and a waste of time, energy and financial resources. Complaints don't resolve problems rather they compound them.
It's high time these kids are made to be busy and help them build their future in serenity. I have never understood that there is only one pattern to succeed and that pattern is that everybody must attend school and must be certified.
Life is full of practical principles and success is not pegged to academics alone. However I am not ridiculing academics but proposing a way out for the kids who are allowed to roam about without any focus.
These kids can be busy while waiting for schools resumption. Even whenever schools resume, they will be much better, groomed and practical for their future integration into future life.
