The Government has ordered the Cameroon Airline Corporation (Camair-Co), to re-establish domestic flights to West Cameroon in bid to douse the flaring tempers of the Anglophones.
Camair-Co completed its first technical test flight to the North West Region on Tuesday, July 4.
The Chinese MA60 Mantung, which was given to Cameroon’s military by the Chinese Government and was later added to the Camir-Co fleet by the Government due to inadequate planes, successfully landed at the Bafut Airport.
The Tuesday flight came after several years of neglects of Airports in Southern Cameroons.
The Bamenda Airport just like the Mamfe and Tiko Airports were gradually transformed into plantations and breeding grounds for rodents
Following the successful test flight, Camair-Co will from July 20, begin weekly domestic flights to the Northwest Region from Yaounde and Douala.
But the flight cost still remains a headache. However, sources at Camair-Co have estimated the flight cost at FCFA 32,000.
Meanwhile, officials of the Cameroon Airline Corporation have assured clients that flight tickets will relatively be cheaper.
According to the General Manager of Camair-Co, Ernest Ndikoum, people who book for hotel and airfare together will spend less.
He also revealed that the Bamenda destination is part of the company’s restructuring programme aimed at giving more value to domestic flights, at cheaper rates.
The Camair-Co Bamenda flight, which is due to officially begin on July 20, is set to make use of its three domestic flights.
Meantime, the Bamenda Airport, which was neglected and surreptitiously transformed into a military camp for the Rapid Intervention Battalion(BIR) has now been given a new facelift following the launch of th Camair-Co domestic flight operations.

The Cameroonian Senate on the 3rd of June 2017, adopted a new law, which will permit members of government to assume the post of President of Administrative Council (PCA), while functioning as members of government.
Investir au Cameroun, an Economic Magazine revealed this information in chapter 3 of their recent publication, Wednesday 5 June. This therefore means that, ministers and other members of government are no longer restricted from exercising their greed as that is what had been obtaining in Cameroon even before the implementation of this law.
Before now, article 21 of the 1999 law of December 22, stated clearly that “the post of president of Administrative council is incompatible with that of the members of government”.
This change comes at a time when Senator Peter Mafany has dropped his resignation letter which will have him stripped of his functions as a senator. He is reported to have done this in order to focus on the Commission for Bilingualism and Multiculturalism where he is president.

Parents in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon send your kids to practical schools like garages, woodwork and Joinery,Electrical and industrial wiring, floor and wall tailing, bread and cake decorations, shoe making and cobbling, soap production, decoration and modelling, speech writing ,poetry writing. Script writing etc.
The sum total of education is wealth creation and putting food on the table as well as living a hazard free life. If one can speak the English language like Queen Elizabeth of England and possess degrees like the most capped academician but can't feed himself, then the purpose of education is futility and a waste of time, energy and financial resources. Complaints don't resolve problems rather they compound them.
It's high time these kids are made to be busy and help them build their future in serenity. I have never understood that there is only one pattern to succeed and that pattern is that everybody must attend school and must be certified.
Life is full of practical principles and success is not pegged to academics alone. However I am not ridiculing academics but proposing a way out for the kids who are allowed to roam about without any focus.
These kids can be busy while waiting for schools resumption. Even whenever schools resume, they will be much better, groomed and practical for their future integration into future life.

The SDF MP for Jakari Constituency, Hon. Joseph Wirba, has cried out to the diplomatic community accredited to Yaoundé that the government of La Republique has hatched a plan to assassinate him.
Wirba’s claim is contained in separate letters he recently sent to the French, US, German Ambassadors and the British and Canadian High Commissioners to Cameroon.
The letters are titled “Grave concerns for my safety”
In the letters, the MP said “I do not feel safe, and I am not safe. My phone has been hacked. I am trailed everywhere I go and to make things worse, reliable sources informed me that there are plans to arrest me and if possible physically eliminate me at anytime.”
Hon. Wirba further asserted that it is more difficult for him to continue living a normal life under such circumstances, since the Constitution that protects him was compromised by Government in a bid to arrest him.
“I therefore plead with you to help protect and keep me safe through your high office,” Wirba said.
He said as MP, protected by the Constitution, he spoke on behalf of his voiceless Anglophone people on December 2, 2016.
“I was shocked when Government quickly put the Constitution of the nation aside and ordered for his arrest.”
“Your Excellency, as you are well aware, the core issues related to the problems of the English-Speaking people of Cameroon, are very profound indeed… There is a complete lack of goodwill to dialogue with our people that dates back to 1961, when the union was formed between East and West Cameroon.
The English-speaking people of Cameroon have been oppressed, abused, and their human dignity trampled upon for too long. Government policy towards Anglophone Cameroonians is directly threatening the unity of the nation.”
The MP said, after he daringly articulated the Anglophone Problem, he has become an enemy of the Government and he had to escape into hiding.
While in hiding, Wirba wrote to the Speaker of the National Assembly, calling on him to ensure his protection, but he was snubbed.
The Lion-hearted Wirba recent emergence at the National Assembly raked commotion when the MP appeared unexpectedly and continued with his vocal pronouncements about the Anglophone Problem.

Over the years, the rich Southern Cameroons Regions, especially the naturally endowed Fako Division have been the preserve of Francophone administrators.
The rich oil and land of Fako Division are enjoyed by Francophones at the detriment of the real owners.
A closer look at the administrators, who have ruled in Fako Division since the late 1990s, shows that all of them have been Frnacophones.
When Jean Mengue Meka served as Fako SDO, his successors have only been Francophones.
Meka left the SDO’s Office in Limbe in 1991 and was replaced by Robert Ngambi Dikoume.
Ngambi was transferred in 2004 and Bernard Okalia Bilai took over. By the close of 2008, Bernard Okalia Bilai handed over to Jules Marcellin Ndjaga.
Ndjaga was did not rule for long when in 2010, he was appointed Governor of the South Region and handed over to Francois Bona Ebengue, another Francophone.
Bona Ebengue did not also last for long when in October 2012; he was sent on retirement and Georges Zang III took over the baton of command.
Many Anglophones were expecting that the Presidential Decree of Monday, July 3 that sent Zang III on retirement was going to usher in an Anglophone as administrator of Fako, given the current crisis rocking the English-speaking Regions of Cameroon.
But Biya has once again snubbed the Anglophones and appointed Emmanuel Engamba Ledoux, another Francophone as SDO of the rich oil and land Fako Division.
Many Anglophones are now saying that Fako Division with its juicy resource has become a milking cow for Francophone Administrators, while Anglophones are sent to economic barren Divisions as DOs and SDOs.

The defence ministers and army chiefs of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and Benin are meeting in Yaoundé on Thursday to discuss the fight against insecurity in the region.
They are expected to examine the text drafted by military experts and associates during the past days in Yaoundé.
The text is based on the fight against the terror group, Boko Haram, as well as the humanitarian situation created by the insurgency in the region.
Boko Haram remains a thread to Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger, Chad, and Benin.
Though weakened, the radical Islamic group continues to kill, kidnap people, and loot property.
This meeting comes at a time when Chad is threatening to pull some of it's troops out of the Multinational Joint Task Force due to financial difficulties.
Cameroon on its part received FCFA 10million from its 'citizens' living in the UK some days back.
